The easiest way to view information on your Council Tax account or Benefit claim is through our online portal. Register for our customer portal or e-billing.

Information on our services, online access to our Council Tax and Housing Benefit forms (including new claims) and notifying us of changes is available via our links on the right.

Our contact teams are available to assist our customers through a range of contact options that is appropriate to the customers needs.  This includes the ability to engage digitally and takes account of additional support needs.  Our agents will assess the correct method of contact and make the appropriate arrangements.  Some of these contact methods are noted below.

Housing Benefits and Council Tax Reduction

You can make an application for Housing Benefit or Council Tax reduction online through our Application Form.

If you need to send documents to support your Council Tax Reduction or Housing Benefit application you can do this:

  • Online through our Housing Benefit/Council Tax Reduction contact form
  • By email as an attachment to Hben.Central@glasgow.gov.uk
    • If you send a photograph of a document as an attachment please ensure the contents can be clearly read
  • By post to: Council Tax and Housing Benefit Service, PO Box 36, Glasgow, G1 1JE

When sending documents, please make sure you also provide the following information:

  • Your name
  • Your postal address
  • Your National Insurance number
  • Your contact telephone number
  • Your email address (where possible)

  • Blind & Partially Sighted Customers

Documents such as housing benefit decision letters can also be issued in large text format for our sensory impaired customers. Please contact us to request this.

  • Deaf & Hard of Hearing Customers

The following service allows deaf BSL users to contact Scotland's public body.

  • War Pensioners & Ex-Service Personnel

The War Pensions Scheme is for ex-Service personnel whose injuries, wounds and illness arose prior to 6th April 2005. The scheme also supports war widows and is administered by Veterans UK.
