Get Involved

Communities have been at the very heart of our legacy plans and ambitions. In the run up to Glasgow 2014, residents were engaged and informed through a variety of activities including, ongoing consultation, community meetings, workshops and funding fairs. E-bulletins also enabled those who had signed up to receive regular updates.

With legacy continuing up until 2019 you can still be inspired and get involved through volunteering, making healthier choices in your day to day life, find out about our council-led legacy projects or even apply for legacy branding for your own community project, activity or event.

Become a volunteer

Now the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games are over the city hopes to make the most of this opportunity to leverage the increased interest and opportunities for volunteering the Games has created.

Volunteering is a fundamental building block of society. It is widely recognised to have a positive impact on individuals, organisations and the wider community. And in the current economic climate, it can help people to gain the new skills, confidence, experience and references required to secure employment.

Be involved and give your time and energy to make a difference to your neighbours, your community and your city.

Volunteering is so varied and so flexible, you can take part any time that suits you, as little or as often as you like.
