Event Road Restrictions

Summary

This page will inform you of various types of road closures taking place in Glasgow.  Please see below:

Hogmanay Event closures 

Roads affected and dates and times of restriction applying to all vehicles, with the exception of an emergency service vehicle carrying out an emergency response or vehicles given permission from Glasgow City Council filming and events section.

Buff Club restrictions

PROHIBITION OF VEHICLE MOVEMENTS
From 17:00hrs on 31 December 2024 to 05:00hrs on 1 January 2025

  • Bath Lane, between West Campbell Street and Blythswood Street.

PROHIBITION OF WAITING, LOADING AND UNLOADING
From 17:00hrs on 31 December 2024 to 05:00hrs on 1 January 2025

  • Bath Lane, between West Campbell Street and Blythswood Street.

Scotsman Group restrictions

PROHIBITION OF VEHICLE MOVEMENTS
14:00hrs on the 31 December 2024 to 03:00hrs on 1 January 2025

  • Ashton Lane, for its whole length
  • Ashton Lane North, for its whole length
  • Great George Lane, for its whole length

PROHIBITION OF WAITING, LOADING AND UNLOADING FOR ALL VEHICLES
15:00hrs on the 30 December 2024 to 03:00hrs on 1 January 2025

  • Ashton Lane, for its whole length
  • Ashton Lane North, for its whole length
  • Great George Lane, for its whole length

Reason for Restrictions

To facilitate a temporary restriction for the safety of road users during the Hogmanay celebrations.

"vehicle" unless the context otherwise requires, means a vehicle of any description and includes a machine or implement of any kind drawn or propelled along roads whether or not by mechanical power;

"emergency service vehicle" means a vehicle being used by the Police, Fire or Ambulance Services and includes blood transfer vehicles operated by the NHS.

"Prohibition to vehicle movements" applying to all directions unless otherwise stated.
