This page will inform you of various types of road closures taking place in Glasgow.  Please see below:

SWG3 Eastvale Place (18 July - 17 August 2024)

Roads affected and dates and times of restriction applying to all vehicles, except for an emergency service vehicle carrying out an emergency response or vehicles given permission from Glasgow City Council filming and events section.

From 15:00hrs on the 18 July 2024 until 23:59hrs 21 July 2024

Prohibition of vehicle movements

Reason for Restrictions

To facilitate a temporary restriction for the safety of SWG3 event and participants.

"vehicle" unless the context otherwise requires, means a vehicle of any description and includes a machine or implement of any kind drawn or propelled along roads whether or not by mechanical power;

"emergency service vehicle" means a vehicle being used by the Police, Fire or Ambulance Services and includes blood transfer vehicles operated by the NHS.

"Prohibition to vehicle movements" applying to all directions unless otherwise stated.
 

Piping Live McPhater Street (8-17 August 2024)

Roads affected and dates and times of restriction applying to all vehicles with the exception of an emergency service vehicle carrying out an emergency response or vehicles given permission from Glasgow City Council events section.

The following roads will have a NO WAITING, NO LOADING and UNLOADING (all sides of the road) from 00:01hrs on 8 August 2024 to 16:00hrs 17 August 2024.


The same roads will have a PROHIBITION OF VEHICLE MOVEMENTS
from 07:00hrs on the 8 August 2024 until 16:00hrs on 17 August 2024

  • McPhater Street between Lambert Street and Maitland Street
  • Maitland Street between Dundasvale Road and McPhater Street

Reason for Restrictions

The safety of the event and other road users. 

"vehicle" unless the context otherwise requires, means a vehicle of any description and includes a machine or implement of any kind drawn or propelled along roads whether or not by mechanical power;

"emergency service vehicle" means a vehicle being used by the Police, Fire or Ambulance Services to also include NHS blood transfer vehicles.
"Prohibition to vehicle movements" applying to all directions unless otherwise stated. 

Springburn Community Festival (24-25 August 2024)

Roads affected and dates and times of restriction applying to all vehicles, with the exception of an emergency service vehicle carrying out an emergency response or vehicles given permission from Glasgow City Council filming and events section. 


From 15:00hrs on the 23 August 2024 until 18:00hrs on the 24 August 2024

Reason for Restrictions

To facilitate a temporary restriction to allow the safety of a community event to take place.

"Vehicle" unless the context otherwise requires, means a vehicle of any description and includes a machine or implement of any kind drawn or propelled along roads whether or not by mechanical power;

"Emergency service vehicle" means a vehicle being used by the Police, Fire or Ambulance Services and includes blood transfer vehicles operated by the NHS.

"Prohibition to vehicle movements" applying to all directions unless otherwise stated. 

West End Food Festival (23-25 August 2024)

To facilitate a temporary restriction to bridge opening celebration to take place and for the safety of other road users and pedestrians. 

"vehicle" unless the context otherwise requires, means a vehicle of any description and includes a machine or implement of any kind drawn or propelled along roads whether or not by mechanical power;

"emergency service vehicle" means a vehicle being used by the Police, Fire or Ambulance Services and includes blood transfer vehicles operated by the NHS.

"Prohibition to vehicle movements" applying to all directions unless otherwise stated. 
 

Debutante 2 Filming (6-8 September 2024)

Roads affected and dates and times of restriction applying to all vehicles, except for an emergency service vehicle carrying out an emergency response or vehicles given permission from Glasgow City Councils events section.

Pedestrian movements will be restricted during scene 'action' for the safety of pedestrians. During this time pedestrians will be asked to wait for a few minutes. Access will be maintained to properties outwith 'action'.

To facilitate a temporary restriction to allow filming to take place and for the safety of other road users and pedestrians.

"emergency service vehicle" means a vehicle being used by the Police, Fire or Ambulance Services and includes blood transfer vehicles operated by the NHS.

Freshers Fair - Richmond Street (16-20 September 2024)

From 16:00hrs on the 15 September 2024 until 22:00hrs on the 20 September 2024

  • Richmond Street from North Portland Street to its termination point eastwards

Prohibition of vehicle movements
From 08:00hrs on the 16 September 2024 until 22:00hrs on the 20 September 2024

  • Richmond Street from North Portland Street to its termination point eastwards

Reason for Restrictions

To facilitate a temporary restriction to allow Freshers Fair to take place and for the safety of other road users and pedestrians. 

"vehicle" unless the context otherwise requires, means a vehicle of any description and includes a machine or implement of any kind drawn or propelled along roads whether or not by mechanical power;

"emergency service vehicle" means a vehicle being used by the Police, Fire or Ambulance Services and includes blood transfer vehicles operated by the NHS.

"Prohibition to vehicle movements" applying to all directions unless otherwise stated.
