Inner East Strategic Development Framework
The Glasgow City Development Plan identifies six areas within the City that require a Strategic Development Framework (SDF) in order to coordinate development activity over the short, medium and long term. The Inner East is one of the six areas identified.
The SDF for the Inner East sets out:
- A Vision for the area to become a city district made up of distinct, vibrant, well connected and climate resilient neighbourhoods.
- Key Outcomes to support planning initiatives and projects, inform the design of proposals, and assist in the determination of planning applications.
- An Action Programme to progress planning initiatives.
Status
The Council adopted the Inner East Strategic Development Framework as Supplementary Guidance to the City Development Plan on 29th September 2023. The adopted version of the Inner East SDF (September 2023) can be accessed here.
Inner East SDF and Strategic Environmental Assessment
In accordance with Section 8(1) of the Environmental Assessment (Scotland) Act 2005, following screening the Council has determined that Strategic Environmental Assessment will not be required for the Final Inner East Strategic Development Framework (July 2023).
